Pooka Necklace
At this point, Pooka is a metaphor, though it did start out as a shell. Pooka is my take on the classic and quintessential beach-life choker. This barrel-shaped bead may not look like a shell, but the inspiration is pure Venice Beach.
I grew up in the 70s in the San Fernando Valley. Starting when I was about 9 years old, we spent a few summers at my Aunt's apartment in Venice. It was a great time for me. I would leave after breakfast, usually on roller skates, head towards the Pavilion at Winward, and go back when it got dark (two times with a new puppy). I was local for those months; I felt like a pirate.
Back then, I couldn't spell fashion but I had style; navy & powder blue two-toned OP cord shorts and a velour Kennington shirt. Only thing missing was Puka shell necklace. Looking to catch that feeling and finish the fit, I'm stoked to present my modern take on this sun-kissed Aquarian vibe. Enjoy a Pooka and a smile.
